Welcome to social networking redefined.
Meet. Create. Connect.
BlueVerse.net is a revolutionary social network for people with disabilities and people experiencing prolonged stays in hospitals. Most people take for granted the ability to go out, meet people, and socialize, but disabled individuals are often bound to a certain location and have great difficulty reaching beyond the walls of a hospital or home to cultivate new relationships.
We have forged an alternative.
While social networking sites have existed and flourished for some time, networks like MySpace and Facebook do not adequately serve the social networking needs of people with disabilities. For one, the Internet is not a uniformly safe place, for neither privacy nor emotions, and people with disabilities can be especially vulnerable when interacting in an honest manner. The more honest a person is to the rest of the world, the greater he or she may be at risk for exploitation. We ensure that our network is a secure haven in which our members may freely express themselves.
Secondly, people on other networks often do not want to be friends with people they've never met. But this is exactly what someone in a restricted social environment needs. We envision a change in the paradigm. While we will certainly allow existing relationships to flourish over BlueVerse.net, we have a clear focus: we want our members to meet new people. Helping those who are limited to hospitals or homes meet others like them -- people with whom they may share much in common and may be their best friend they never met, living down the street -- is our goal. This is the social network for people with disabilities.
We will be providing this service and much more for free, and in the future, community members can look forward to some BIG advances in the social network. Please visit www.BlueRedefined.org for more information on the charity that runs this network.
